Antique Westinghouse Nikola Tesla Motor Electric Fan

This in an antique electric fan (ca 1899) manufactured by Westinghouse and the only one that has Nikola Tesla’s name with his patent (issued 1891)listed on its motor tag along with a patent by Robert Hassler (issued 1895). There is also a custom made variable transformer set to provide optimal function for this fan. This “Tesla” as it is known to fan collectors, is a beautiful and functional piece of American manufacturing history and currently listed on Ebay. cgi.ebay.com

Lika was a part of the Austro-Hungarian “Military Frontier” as a defense border area against Turkish invasions which tried to invade Western Europe.Population was most Serbian. Today it is in state of Croatia. Tesla’s father Rev. Milutin Tesla, was a Serbian Orthodox Priest. Tesla died 1943 in hotel room in New York, alone, and penniless. Language in video is Serbo-Croatian with english translation_subtitles.Google translator and Serbian-English Cruise Dictionary was help in translation.

early alternating current only had the hot and neutral no ground i suppose you ground any metal on the fan but as long as the wire is fine you wouldn’t need to do that.

omg! wow! i bet you found it at a yard sale lol. jk , its really nice! i love teslas technology so its nice seeing historical artifacts like this! if you got any other tesla artifacts please tell me! i would love to see them! thanks. my favorite part of teslas work is his wireless energy transfer!
